The season of parties and such are upon us and if you were scrambling last year (or even last week) to find the perfect bag to wear with your formal ‘little back dress’ or your gorgeous nude-colored ball gown or even your hip-hugging satin suit, now is the time to grab it! Whiting & Davis has them on sale at Editors Closet right now (they WILL NOT last long)….my favorites are the Classic Bubble Mesh Clutch ($73) in Antique Gold

To Get Your Rough-and-Tough On

I love this ring and bracelet set by Paige Novick at LaGarconne.  The cylindrical, double band ring is made of silver but has a black rhodium finish, and at $115 is a great value.  The $335 single strand braided leather and silver bracelet has ring closure clamps.  Separately they’re nice, but together they’re ‘ready to rumble’! Now we just need to find the perfect fitted leather jacket because we’ve already got the attitude….

I’m Addicted to Purses, Aren’t You!

I found this new site and the diva that runs it is fabulous so, here’s the deal: head to guiltlesspurse.com and knock yourself out.  The site features lots of the ‘standard’ issue but also lesser known (but just as good if not better) brands such as Rebecca Minkoff, Goldenbleu, Botkier, Today we (re)feature an authentic red leather Goldenbleu Sophie Hobo for $128 (normally $700-on the site for $160 but Blueprint readers get an additional 20% off)!  It has gold-tone hardware,

Purse Addiction, Part 2

Today (and everyday) I’m in love with this Leyla green python bag.  It’s only $475 at guiltlesspurse.com and I say only because it’s all python which isn’t so easy to come across unless youre’ paying $1000+, it’s a gorgeous deep green color which is another ideal color for fall, it has serpent hardware detailing that will not be lost on other purse-lovers, and the 11-inch drop ensures that you can put on the puffiest of coats and still be able

Too Haute, Don’t Touch!

Let’s dream a little…this Jimmy Choo Prosper leather sandal is at Outnet.com for $350 and while the price isn’t bad, the 5-inch heel isn’t for the faint-of-heart plus summer’s just about over. It’s a red and black leather peep-toe sandal with a gold zip fastening at the back and (look close) a wood effect! HAUTENESS!.

During these Times, We Need to Cinch our Financial Belt

As a self-proclaimed fashionista and shopper-extraordinaire that means finding ways to look stylish and sophisticated while practicing chic-onomics….enter accessories!  While my shopping addiction has been known to include clothing of all kinds, anyone who knows me knows I love shoes, jewelry and purses more than anything else!  Recently, in my hot-and-heavy pursuit of chic-onomics at the behest of my readers, I have expanded my roving shoppers eye to include other accessories among them belts! Indeed a belt can change your perspective

For The Larger Shoe Size Sisters of Shoppers Anonymous

Large Size Designer Shoes is an online haven for those of us who have a foot fetish but may have been graced with feet that are slightly larger than the norm.  While I cannot say I have purchased shoes from here (I am a very average size 8), I can say that reliable style blog counterparts have raved about the site! The site features designers such as Pedro Garcia, Rupert Sanderson, and Mer du Sud!!  And, of course, they also

14 Days of Fall Fashions! Day 10 & The Perfect “Catch All Saturday Bag”

Anyone who knows me, knows that my favorite shopping line when I see something I like, must have, and don’t really need is “Oh it’s perfect for Saturday.  I can definitely rock this as a Saturday bag/shoe/boot/shirt/etc!”  So in honor of my shoppers-anonymous true calling and because in fall, Saturdays are just about the most perfect day created (and yes, because every style rag would consider if gauche if I didn’t have it), today’s fall fashion must have is the perfect

I Reminisce about Hello Kitty

I’m not sure about you but, I have fond memories of Hello Kitty pens, pencils, wallets, notepads, necklaces, charms, etc.  I was even on a visit to LA last year and indulged in a Hello Kitty keychain charm just so I could look down when I turn the key to my car and get a quick rush of laughter!! Enough about my fond memories….I’m sure that if you were born anytime after 1968, you have one or two memories as

Traveling To and Fro…with Ease

I have been going back and forth from DC to Chicago across the last week or so, and although this transition should be seamless this time of year, it’s been a little bit of a hassle.  I’m not sure if it’s global warming or just the gods conspiring to keep Monica guessing but, when I leave DC’s sunshine, I’m assured of rain in Chicago, and when I leave Chicago’s chilly summer weather, I land in sweltering DC heat.  All of this moving to and

SHOE-bee-doo-bee-doo!

The title has nothing to do with the post….but it’s catchy isn’t it?! For our final day of Shoe Week, Blueprint thought it wise to leave on the ‘good foot’ (LOL!) so, wanted to provide the shoes that every stylish and sophisticated wardrobe should not be without.  Unlike yesterday’s shoes that were fun, and more trendy and whimsical, the following shoes are ones that should be purchased with a cobbler in mind, your credit card in hand, and a good friend

SHOE-string Budget: Shoes Under $100

In an effort to be fiscally responsible which is, admittedly, not one of my favorite past-times and to offer some insight into remaining stylish amidst this economic crisis, today’s Shoe Week post is for those shoe finds under $100!!!  While they may not get you through every occasion, you’ll have about 75% of them cover….with a few extras for those special outfits! The most common sites (bookmark these!) include yesstyle.com, piperlime.gap.com, modcloth.com. revolveclothing.com, flyjane.net, heels.com, bakersshoes.com, and lorisshoes.com…let the games

Shoe I Stay or Shoe I Go?!

Yesterday the ladies got to pine over some of my favorite shoes (now you know how I feel!) while the gentlemen got to take a look at the most expensive shoes for men — it almost makes it ok for the ladies to purchase more than 1 pair at any sale!  For some reason, I’m sure the experience of looking at shoes did not move any of the men the way it moved the ladies….again, blasphemy!!  Well today we continue on with Shoe

Kicking Off Shoe Week: Let Me Count the Ways in Which I Love Thee!

Recently I was golfing with a friend in Miami and had the good fortune to have great company and good conversation.  I had to purchase golf shoes for the outing and as I looked down at them on a lengthy Par 5 (the new Nike Women’s Air Summer Lite II happen to be the lightest and best ventilated shoe out!), I smiled inside and giggled on the outside….I loved my new golf shoes!!  During our conversation, we somehow got on

Featured Designer: Tabitha Simmons

Tabitha Simmons is a British model-turned-designer and she is debuting a “quirky-chic collection of haute heels”.  The shoe collection hasn’t quite taken off in the States yet but, they are at net-a-porter.com and my favorites are the multicolored suede platform pumps!  The suede and wedge construction mean they’ll be perfect for fall; the loafer-style buckle and contrast stitching keep it very chic and business-like; and the 4.5 inch heel just says “sexy’…. .

Quick – What’s the Fastest Way to Change Your Outfit?!

If you screamed “accessories” then you were right!  Some of you may have said “jacket,” or “outfit,” or “purse” and, if so, you were wrong….because most people don’t carry multiple jackets, purses or outfits when they leave the house but carrying a few extra accessories is totally reasonable! So you leave the house looking like this in the morning….. You can very easily change it up by removing your jacket and adding (1) a big belt perhaps purple,  or (2) a

Booties…with Cutout Design (Skip ‘Em)!

Ok- they are supposed to be chic and hip, and all the rage, and I am NOT a fan of these cutout designs.  Rather than achieving something edgy, they are teetering precariously toward ‘hooker-esque’ and for the people I see wearing them, they are not really helping the cause.

Can You Top That…Are Hats the New Fashion Accessory?

We all know about the baseball cap — which has gotten more airtime and video play than is appropriate.  They are used to cover up bad hair days and receding hairlines, to complete outfits and ensure perfect matching, and to denote where you’re from or with whom you are affiliated.

Sunglasses: The Ultimate In Giving People “Shade”

So sunglasses are the ultimate “I’m cool” accessory – they can say so much like “I’m cool and definitely know it”, “Not sure what the big deal is but I only wear them so I don’t squint”, “I don’t want to be seen”….and the list goes on.  Whatever they say, you determine it by their shape, size, shading/gradient, material, and embellishments.
