Winter Warm For Your Legs

Across the next week or so, I’ll be sharing a couple of posts related to my standard winter/cold weather uniform as well as few key finds {beauty & fashion alike} from my most recent trip to Paris. That said, the temperature is dropping….fast and I’m sure we all want to figure out a way to stay warm but look haute without too much fuss. For me, part of the “formula” is using just a few essentials that can flex up and down. Fun tights [with my skirts] and leggings [on casual/down days] are part of the list.

No nonsense gave me a pair of leggings and tights to road test and I wanted to share a few pictures along with some additional style insights. No nonsense tights and leggings are cool! I started out with the denim leggings ~ they’re true leggings and you’ll appreciate the poly-cotton blend because it makes them a little bit heftier for the cold weather but, the denim-looking material means they’re totally interchangeable with jeans. I don’t love the elastic waistband however, I have yet to own a pair of leggings that doesn’t have it so c’est la vie.

I’m sporting my rose gold accessories today {ring, watch, necklace}. They’re feminine and soft but stand out enough to pop with all of the black and dark denim colors. The red handbag livens up with entire look….and carries my iPad, Dell #XPS and few beauty essentials.

Now, the tights ~ they were actually more fun to style because I’m a dress girl at heart even in winter. There’s something about a skirt or dress that is just feminine and after living for many years as a tomboy, this is a welcome switch! Ok, so here’s my thing with tights and hosiery in general: I don’t know if it’s just me but hosiery always makes me legs itch and I can’t stand how the waistband always rolls down (it could just be my plump tummy!). What you’ll love about these tights:

  • they don’t make your legs itch
  • the waist band  is wide which means the waistband “roll” is less frequent
  • the tights are mid-rise and sit just below your belly button ~ which is perfectly sized for skirts and pants
I can see myself scooping a few more pairs in other colors to set off my casual days and make my winter drab bright ~ the texturing creates just a touch of interest from regular tights or opaques. Yay!!

It’s a No nonsense campaign.

  1. I’ll have to try the leggings, they will be a great alternative to jeans. The tights maybe an option but I’m cold-natured and not sure if I can do just tights.

One more thing, where did you get the faux-fur vest? I need one!!!

  2. The leggings are the way to go for you although, the tights under a pair of pants or long skirt would help to keep you warm too! The faux fur vest was a consignment shop find- thanks!!

  3. Pam- I hear you…if you had to! I live in a climate that requires something on my legs so the idea of getting warmth & a bit of color/style is like a twofer!
