Without Saying A Word, Style GuideBook Vol 2

My second DC launch party for my style guidebook, Without Saying A Word: The Silent Power of Style, happened on February 27th at Bonobos‘ DC store in Cady Alley. It was a fabulous time had by all and by “all”, I mean men and women. This launch party was for the guys and girls: the ladies got to chat about the inner workings of getting stylish and since every stylish woman wants a dapper man on her arm, the gents

Book Review: The Divorce Papers

Divorce can be ugly and this book was meaty but terrific! Now on to my thoughts….wait – I’ve taken to reading mostly in the evenings, almost as a treat to myself and have also taken to doing it with my glasses. There’s a bit of me that thinks this makes it more “old school”…..pulling on my spec and digging in! Although I have a love for Rivet & Sway, these latest specs are compliments of Warby Parker, the bright red Sloan.

Without Saying A Word, Style GuideBook

Peeps. Treats & beverages. Friends & fans. Books. Stylish chatter. Fashionable & personalized insights. And me…. The Graham Georgetown was the perfect place to serve up the “blueprint” cocktail, and share stylish beginnings and chatter for my new style guidebook, “Without Saying A Word: The Silent Power of Style“. It was a blast and if you missed it then you missed personalized style tips, some stories between old friends (ask Stacey of Blogalicious), and custom made treats from my good

Fashion Law Week at Violet Boutique

I headed to Violet Boutique in Dupont Circle to celebrate the kick-off of Fashion Law Week (FLW) plus it meant a chance to check out the new items at Violet, a fashion boutique that does trendy, modern and affordable well! It was cold last week so I was bundled up….in my new winter must-have Norma Kamali shawl collar coat. A nice opportunity to socialize and shop.

Tech Talk: Flint

As an entrepreneur and being in the midst of entrepreneurs regularly and often, I’m always looking for technology that will make life easier. When Square came out with that handy-dandy card reader, it was like sunshine came and parked itself outside my front door. I could accept payments everywhere….as long as I had my card reader (unless I wanted to pay a higher percentage for keying in the card number). I even found myself “lending” my card reader to other

Tuck-er Up!

Do you ever have trouble keepin’ it in your pants (or skirt)? Well Bradamant has solved that problem for us! Bradamant understands that part of being a professional woman is looking and being put together literally and when your shirt tails are running rampant outside of your bottom, you lose a little something. [Enter stage left] Beautiful tops that stay put – because they are blouses with a bodysuit bottom! I saw the Warrior (loved the name!), and immediately decided

Book Review: Happier at Home

Other than my book (shameless plug), I couldn’t think of a better way to start a new year than by reading a book like Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin. If you take a peek at my 2014 goals and intentions, you’ll see that Gretchen and I were likely co-conspirators on more clearly defining happiness and the ways in which you can find it. As I read the book and the areas of growth or focus that Gretchen ventured to

Welcome visitors and enjoy the holiday – either in your home or for the perfect host/ess!

Holiday Gift Guide: For Him

Finding the perfect gift or even something different often takes a little doing when it comes to men because they don’t always know what they want (that we can afford…besides the Masarati). We’ve created a pretty cool lookbook of things he’ll love and use (and even needs)! Is there something else you’d add to the list? This list works for any man that travels, wants to smell good (but manly), practices a bit of hygiene, likes to show his fun

Holiday Gift Guide: Let’s Get Ready

Pink Martini rosette dress, $98 (the old gold is gorg, and fit-n-flare says festive; add a red lip and nails and you’re ready to rock) Gap trim puffer vest, $70 (I want a shell that allows me to run store to store but is light enough – no need for extra weight when you’ve got all those packages) Ivanka Trump Anita strappy heel, $135 (I want to be ready for any/every holiday party, and be able to cut-a-rug so these

Isabel Marant for H&M

Born and raised in Paris, Isabel Marant launched her eponymous collection in 1994 and has been ‘on fire, since! Her style sentiment is a mix of Parisian chic, masculine tailoring, and laidback casual. On November 14th at select stores at 8am local time and online starting at 12pm EST, it’s on! This collection, comprised of items for men, women and children, unlike other collaborations, should be fabulous. Below is a snapshot of all the items and above are my favorites…now

Book Review: The Dinner

This book, The Dinner, was utterly disturbing but lead me down several divergent pathways. I started out by going to my family and a few close friends to ask a thought provoking question (in as neutral a tone as possible). The results were exactly as expected. But I stopped because I wanted to think and share what was most riveting about this book for me – and that was how we got to such a depraved ending. Four seemingly normal

Scents & Styles of Fall 2013: The Details

In early summer, I hatched a scheme with a fellow entrepreneur and good friend, Wendy of Evolution Consulting Group, to create an intimate style affair. That’s all I had…. With a little prodding, a few brainstorming sessions fueled by a little ‘creative juice’, we came up with the who, what, when, where and even the why. The intimate style affair needed to focus on the ‘senses’ and fashion, of course. The event would be for my best clients and some
