cargo pants for all!

Cargo pants are making a comeback and who doesn’t love lots of pockets! These ones I just scooped from Shopbop are by Robert Rodriguez and even if they’re not available, here are a few more options to consider…. They work nicely with heels for a dinner out or even on Saturday with some flats. Either way, it’s an elevated chic alternative to denim!

I am IN LOVE with these French terry pintuck pleat pants! They’re cream, made of a soft terry, a pseudo- jogger/pants but perfection to wear to any meeting because of the fit. They’re another item I’m loving for spring that I am going to try not to wear everyday….but if I do, don’t look at me!! The other pants I’m in love with this spring…. holiday denim

Don’t we all love denim?! And then when there’s already some sparkle added ~ is that even better? So when I thought of a fun, holiday outfit that when ‘light up the room‘ when I walked in, I pictured these pair of jeans + a sequin sweatshirt for the ultimate lazy festive look! Who’s in with me?! They almost remind me of something I’d see on an old 70s dance show – I’m ready!

This is an essential/must-have: an easy holiday-ready bottom that can work multiple events on your behalf! This Sandro metallic midi skirt is my choice (along with this sequinned midi skirt) to be ready for the holiday parties – and I’m not even that social! Think about your social calendar and find those one or two essentials – and use TheOutnet because, right now, they’re having a nice sale. I’ll be hosting a private shopping event at Kit & Ace at

Dressing Hi-Lo

There is an art to dressing hi-lo….and you should start with the “hi” portion first. We took the Roksanda Rosalind slub wool-blend skirt and paired it with the $34 H&M striped camisole top to create a chic look that will go from work (with a blazer) to a yacht club party on the weekend! We also threw in two sale items: the Clare V clutch and Paul Andrew denim and leather slingback pump. BOOM! Sprinkle in your own flavor and

Spring Must Haves: White Jeans

In case you missed the memo, you could have been rocking your white denim months ago but, if you’re sticking to the straight-and-narrow then know that you MUST have a pair to function this spring and summer. My first recommendation is to own two pairs: one for spring/summer and one for fall/winter. The pair we’re shopping for now should be a lightweight material with some stretch and to make it as versatile as possible, keep embellishments like pockets, contrast stitching,

Travel Too….Southeast Asia: Three Essentials

I spent 1/2 month (18 days to be exact) in southeast Asia between Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Saigon. I loved it and while not immediately, I’m going back because it’s warm, super inexpensive, laidback, and has good eating! I worked with Lands’ End before leaving to coordinate on a few essentials for the trip and I had a fairly long list. I found three items that I would have been hard-pressed to be without while there: Starfish slim leg pants

Where Not To Wear Denim

I’m in love with that invention called denim just as much as the next girl (or guy) but we all need a quick reminder of when rocking denim can be inappropriate. Is there ever a time when denim doesn’t work? I found six occasions: At a job interview (unless it’s a The Gap) At a wedding At a funeral At any important work function Meeting the in-laws To workout Did I miss anything? If so, share! Don’t forget to

Luxe & Less

I rarely (if ever) show luxe & less but this one just popped out and I had to share! Perhaps because I had been waiting patiently for this J.Crew fluted surf skirt to go on sale ~ it’s the perfect mix of casual and informal business. The cotton/poly bonded jersey reads casual with an oversize button down and sneakers but does an immediate change-up with a fitted blazer and heels. I saw and fell in love. The dark charcoal would

Pretty, Petite, Perfect Dress!

Whitney Pozgay is slightly “vertically challenged” thus, has an appreciation for clothing that helps the more petite among us reach new heights! She collaborated with Anthropologie on a capsule collection, WHIT Two. Check it out here but my favorite piece is this embroidered urchin petite dress {$188}. This white dress is the perfect length for day or date night; the backside zipper works to create a little booty; the swing top is forgiving; and the fitted skirt provides ideal balance

The 501 Is 140

It was 140 years ago that Levi Strauss introduced the 501 jean ~ with its patented riveted pockets. In large part, the jeans have seen very few updates….until now! Levi has updated its 501 formula to create a lighter-weight, shrink-to-fit denim that will be available in multiple neutrals like camel and olive. Will I purchase a pair? Of course, they were one of the first pair of denim I purchased as an adult! Read more about 501 here….

A “Real” Runway, Role Model Mom?

I’m not a mom. I have no children to speak of (other than my shoes and handbags). I do, however, have a deep appreciation for the ‘working mom‘ and spend many hours outfitting them. They want comfort. They want fabrics that move and that you can spot clean. They want versatility. And then they want what seems slightly more elusive: a bit of sexiness; femininity, a little bit of edge, and to wake up and roll out looking perky and

Better To Have Loved & Lost Than To Have Never Loved At All

That’s what I keep telling myself when I think of J Brand Jeans. I had a not-so-secret love affair with J Brand and have recently found out that they are positioning themselves in high-fashion and as such, will no longer be the official jean of Blueprint for Style. I will relish my many pairs and their fabulous fit (even after multiple washes and a few uh-ohs in the dryer)….. So long, farewell….. Better to have loved and lost than to

And this month, one lucky guy and girl will get one of their reclaimed, denim, fall-ready, fashion-forward shirts! To be entered to win, simply click HERE and post one word {yes, any word that you

The Shorts Story

It’s never to late to understand the nuance of shorts lengths. I found this cool pic of various shorts sizes and thought it would be a worthwhile lesson in looking and understanding what works for you. Do you have long, lean legs? Are you shorter in stature and need some length? Do you have long legs but want something more svelte? Is it all about showing everything you’ve got? Do you just want something that will create a little relief
