I was determined to keep this holiday season low-key and relaxed, and it was going to start with a leisurely drive to my sister and brother-in-law's house in Connecticut. I planned to leave in mid-December (one of the benefits of being an entrepreneur!) and stop in New York City to do a touch of shopping and sightseeing.
Accomplished! With the help of Toyota by lending me a late model 2016 Camry XSE, I rocked my way to New York City well before the holiday rush, got a roadtrip in that was worthwhile enough to plan another, and got to scoop a few gifts for some surprised family members!
I travel in comfort - I rocked my trusty (and overutilized) Lululemon wool henley, Paige "skyline" denim that are now my favorites (they ousted my old J. Brand's), Helmut Lang sonar wool shawl collar jacket (between this and my All Saints Dahlia sweatshirt, I am ashamed at how often I wear them....) and comfy Sam Edelman Becker sneakers. This made for easy travel and common sense in-and-out as I hit Bergdorf Goodman and other Fifth Avenue haunts.
I finished off the day with a quick peek at NYC at Ink 48 - the only hotel in New York City with unobstructed views. Clearly, I'll be going back to hang out a bit more and perhaps this time I'll get to catch up with the team at ahaLife to get a look at their operations.
