This year, I'm sharing the best Labor Day sales and shopping in two ways: my top picks and the best brands to check out.
First up - my top picks for fall in no particular order. I'm sticking with camel, creams, and navy (no surprise there!) and my accent colors will be teal/green and red (with a touch of pink). What about you?! I'm hearing a spendthrifty and then splurge-worthy version of most items as well!
- Vest (Save / Splurge) - wear it now sans a shirt, tiptoe into fall with a tee, go all-in on 'sweater weather' with an oversized button-down, and then [surprise] wear it under a cardigan for a fun peek-a-boo...versatile for daysss!
- Clogs (Save / Splurge)
- Wide-leg pants (not oversized) (Save / Splurge) - once on, these will feel very upper West Side chic
- Jumpsuit (Save / Splurge) - aka lazy chicness (this is the one I love)
- Moto-inspired boots (TipToe / All-In)
- A Chloe-esque third layer (Splurge / Save) - Chloe is always in fashion and finishing your outfit like this is an easy WIN
- Luxe knit (Save / Splurge)
- Slip dress (Sassy / Sophisticated) - I've got a knee-length one that I've worn endlessly and will rock going into fall under my cropped sweatshirt as well...
- Band collar or bib front shirt - you will get sooo much mileage out of this to dress up or down
Next - remember not all sales are created equal and, more importantly, everything isn't for you...sorry ladies! If you can be intentional and focus on a few fabulous pieces that increase the overall versatility of your closet, you will feel and look better. Just try it! Brands that will help stretch your wardrobe this fall include...
- Spanx - 70% off, those pants are perfection! EVERY client I have that has purchased them sings their praises and I have the shorts, so can chime in on the chorus!
- Everlane - they're cleaning house, I love their boxy short sleeve shirts - they have a very menswear camp shirt coolness
- Rag & Bone - love this "jean" dress that isn't really denim - they created a material using tencel so it's light [read: perfect for summer] but gives you the grit and insouciance of real denim...winning
- G Star Raw - some of the edgiest denim in the business that will give you that Usher 'bad girl' vibe + a very Pharrell hat and he's everything right now, especially after his FABU Louis Vuitton runway show!
- All Saints - 60% off, I tend toward their dresses for everyday funkiness but step outside your comfort zone and try a print that levels up your weekend girls night.
- Saint & Sofia, I find myself wearing the knot dress too often especially since you can wear it like 4 different ways!!
- Reformation - 70% but a lot to choose from every day to more formal pieces under $200.
- Mother - best butt-loving jeans around!
- Marcella NYC - sleek, minimalist, sustainable chic....that sums it up
