[action required] look forward to 2021

2020 has been a doozy and the best thing we can do is to look forward to 2021 – – – good riddance to 2020! To make that possible, we must plan for it so, which planner are you ordering today?! My favorite choice is shown above by Ivory Paper Co but there are lots to choose from depending on what you need or want to focus on. My 2021 will be focused on getting business done efficiently ~ and taking

who wants a party invite?

Although the weather is saying otherwise, it’s party season! That’s graduation party, wedding, new car, backyard refurb, welcome to summer, etc… do we really need a reason to throw a get together?! Gone are the days of sending invitations and now are the days of invite by email (and even text) but when they go low, we go high!!! I just finished shopping for my client’s June wedding (he will be smokin’ hot in theseTom Ford velvet loafers and Giorgio

Taking Stylish NOTES in 2016

I was sitting at a meeting a couple of weeks ago and one of my fellow JLWers sits down and slaps this gorgeous NOTES journal on the table. I politely waited until after the meeting to inquire (via email) and she responded that she had found it ‘out and about’. I set out to find it, secure it, and then….share the joy! Here’s the skinny: it’s by Eccolo Ltd (a family-owned business based in Brooklyn, NY) 8 x 10 inches

Canon PowerShot G1X

I’m determined to get better acquainted with my gifted Canon PowerShot G1X in 2015. It’s got an “auto” mode which is where I’ll start….. I’ve been hoping for a more sophisticated camera when I should have focused on what I had and been thankful for that. I needed a reminder and I got it as I was fishing around my creative space (aka office) doing purging, repurposing and organizing. Let’s see what I can make of it…and then maybe something

Aspiration #11: Reading

I can read of course, but the reading I want to do for 2015 will be more intentional I have my first five books already (see below) which are unfortunately left from this past year. I’m starting with…. 1) HRC by my good friend Amie Parnes ~ this could be Hilary’s year…. 2) Deluxe by Dana Thomas ~ a bit of a re-read but so essential to understanding the history of fashion and its houses 3) In My Shoes by

Gold

I wish I knew what’s gotten into me because I’d be able to control myself but, I’m 100% “in” on anything that is gold! Up until I was 22 years old, I was into silver and something happened. Perhaps hypnosis will reveal that watershed moment….. Until then, ‘life is golden’. Here are my favorite gold pieces (and most are under $60)! [show_boutique_widget id=”199348″]

Paper

Write On!

I love paper! Don’t get me wrong – I’m a little techy too always listening for something tech-based to solve a problem or provide a shortcut but there’s something lovely and visceral about paper. Tech can do the shortcuts but we solve our problems and think “aloud” using paper. And this 4.5 x 6.2 in notebook is particularly well-suited for your thoughts – it’s titled “Dreams / Schemes” I’m definitely scooping a few to pen my thoughts…and dreams and schemes!

Tech Isn’t Tactile, The Power of Paper

There’s something lovely, memorable, sincere, and treasured about paper. Think about the last time you received a handwritten note ~ chances are pretty good that you still have it. Contrast that with your most recent email “thank you” ~ it’s likely in the “Trash” waiting to be permanently deleted. I think my love of paper came from my mother ~ it was in the form of note pads, journals, calendars, daily planners, cards (lots of cards!), and doodle paper {not
