Think ‘Travel Chic’

ML Traveler (in Cannes)

One of my favorite accessory designers is Stephanie Johnson and because it’s my birthday, I decided to give you a gift! Starting today through November 5th, Blueprint for Style in conjunction with Stephanie Johnson will be giving away the ML Traveler to the person with the best answer to this question: What is stylish travel to you?

Oh yeah – you can get an extra chance to win simply by tweeting I’ll be a stylish traveler with the @SJTraveler bag I won at @Blueprint4Style #SJ&BfS. Oh wait, one more thing — because I don’t want anyone to feel left out, you can get 20% off everything on the website by using promo code Blueprint4Style (now through November 14th)!

It’s that easy, so share your stylish travel insight and win the ML Traveler. In the meantime, read more about Stephanie Johnson….

So you wanna know how Stephanie started this cool venture…. I worked in the corporate world for 13 years before I reinvented myself as a bag designer. I had an idea for something and I just started pursuing it with baby steps. No pressure, no business plan! ‘Leap and the net will appear’ was my motto.

And the ML Traveler…..? The ML traveler has been our best selling shape for 13 years going….and this holiday anything from our Cannes collection is a hot ticket

We want scoop, skinny, ‘insider trading’ kind info. What’s next? For spring 2012 we are obsessed with color! We are piling it on in pastels and brights and natural weaves and shiny patents. Stay tuned, it may be our best collection yet!

You’re the bees knees and everyone wants your bags, so where can we read more about you?  Look for me this October on eHow for a behind the scenes look filmed in our warehouse. You can always follow my travels and share where I get my inspiration by connecting with sjstylecompass. For a more glamorous look check the October issues of O, The Oprah Magazine, Town and Country, and Harper’s Bazaar.

Readers want to know you – what’s your personal indulgence…secret sin?!  Flowers. I’m a cookoo for fresh cut flowers. My neighbor once told me that if I was his wife he’d kill me for spending that much on flowers! [perhaps part of the inspiration for Spring 2012??]

So you travel huh?! How did you wrap up the summer? I said goodbye to summer with a trip to Capri. A perfect send-off, I danced for three nights straight and swam in the green grotto everyday. Bliss.

I have a few obsessions: sugar/food and accessories being included. How do you feel about both? I indulge in simple sugar [I suppose that works….(smile)]and lately it’s been a ceviche tostada at the taco truck with a Mexican coke. I’m obsessed with all things Pierre Hardy and Charlotte Olympia. You are a guaranteed knockout if you pair anything with sky-high Pierre Hardy shoes.

Since you’re a fashionista, what is your must-have on a stranded island? Probably my Eres bikini. They last forever!

Last question – People wonder, ‘does Stephanie even know about Blueprint for Style?’ Are you really feelin’ our site? Ever since you nearly took me down for wearing that cotton with leather sleeves trench, I’ve been hooked. Of course YOU are my favorite part! [She’s so kind….(blush)!]

  1. What is stylish travel to you? Catching the red eye flight armed with InStyle or Vogue for my magazine reading pleasure. I like to be chic and comfy so I love dresses to travel in throw on a jewel-toned scarf around my neck and I’m ready to go. Can’t forget my Hermes blanket to keep me warm and stylish during my flight!

  2. Happy birthday! Stylish travel requires not being a frazzled bag lady. The stylish traveler has well-packed bags that she can carry and transport elegantly, patience and calm while waiting in the many lines we encounter in travel, and shoes that are cute and easy to put on and off (for security screening).

  3. It’s having a stylish bag as the one you are offering in the giveaway, now that is style!!

  4. Stylish travel to me is a pair of skinny jeans, a t-shirt, a nice chucky sweater w/cute accessories, and a pair of comfy flats to easily take off while going through security. Definitely also must have a soft scarf, i-pod, and cute suitcase that has easy wheels! lol.
    Thanks for an awesome giveaway!

  5. Stylish travel to me is looking glamourous and chic without effort. Also it has to be going through airport security like a breeze and look good while doing it.

  6. being stylish is being classy yet comfy, not sweats, looking like red carpet anytime

  7. Stylish travel is a must – you never know who you’ll run into or meet in an airport. Well packed bags and cute but comfy shoes are a must. A tote with easily accesible pockets are a plus for the multiple ID/ticket checks. In addition, a pashmina or well constructed jacket are great in-flight.

  8. What is stylish travel to you! Looking good and being comfortable at the same time. Wearing jeans and a nice sweater or top, a pair of ankle heel boots and of course my jewelry. That ML: traveler is another perfect addition to make me styling! 🙂 Thanks for the chance

  9. Stylish travel to me is letting yourself shine through your clothes and being comfortable in your own skin. Seeing the beautiful world and showing it the beautiful you!

  10. Stylish travel is traveling first class to some fabulous location for a week of stress free vacation, all while dressed to the nines with my wonderful husband on my arm.

  11. stylish travel to me: going first class, naturally.

Actually, stylish travel to me is going somewhere you love with people you love and being casual chic along the way. Nice slacks, casual but smart tee or top, loads of great chain necklaces, some bangles, a statement ring, some uber cool flats and a huge gorg bag to carry all my traveling stuff!

Ixnay on the traveling in pajama pants or jogging suits. What are they thinking???

  12. I love carrying a super chic sscarf and a FAB handbag 🙂 🙂

  13. Stylish travel is having an attitude, outfit and demeanor that say “I am here” let the travels begin!

  14. Stylish travel is effortless. My sense of style when “jet-setting”, is dictated by my destination(s). I consider how much I wanna carry. I also create looks that I can lasdfhalscan mix and match and accessorize to easily and seamlessly go from day to nite. Whether jewelry …load up on bangles. A scarf. Or switch from flats to pumps. I wanna be inspired by my destinations. I don’t wanna have every outfit planned to a tee but depending on my adventures, I allow that to inspire whatever ensemble I might create. The only must is that I be chic and fabulous! 😉

  15. Stylish travel is efficient. Stylish travel is confidence- that woman power walking through the airport in simple yet elegant clothing, knowing exactly where she’s headed.
