Be kind to yourself and plan at least one or two “treats” for yourself. Create a schedule with open blocks of time so others can fit themselves in, if necessary. My version of

TOP 2017 fashion trends: ruching, ASYMMETRY, ruffles, bowties

This fashion asymmetry trend is another favorite along with ruching and its everywhere right now: ruffles, ruching, asymmetrical hemlines and bowties! I hate being a ‘slave to the trends‘ but this one is easy because it’s not going anywhere! It is, however, our last post dedicated to these trends, where to find them, how to wear them, and what to avoid. To find it, head to Topshop, Shopbop, H&M and Need Supply. And if you want to do it right:

TOP 2017 fashion trends: ruffles, RUCHING, asymmetry, bowties

This is my favorite current trend and its everywhere right now: ruffles, ruching, asymmetrical hemlines and bowties! And as much as I hate being a ‘slave to the trends‘, I’m in love with ruching because it’s so forgiving! This is our second last post dedicated to these trends, where to find them, how to wear them, and what to avoid. Ruching can be done anyway you please and its the perfect camouflage for that still-working-on-it midsection and adds just a

TOP 2017 Fashion Trends: ruffles, BOWTIES, ruching, asymmetry

We see these trends everywhere right now: ruffles, ruching, asymmetrical hemlines and bowties! And as much as I hate being a ‘slave to the trends‘, I’m in love with ALL of them. This post shares the know-how on bowties, where to find them, how to wear them, and what to avoid. The key to bowties is not to go overboard because it can make you look like little bo peep….instead focus on the smallest part of your body (or wrists/arms)!

They’re everywhere you look this season: ruffles, ruching, asymmetrical hemlines and bowties! And as much as I hate being a ‘slave to the trends‘, I’m in love with ALL of them. So our next four posts will be dedicated to these trends, where to find them, how to wear them, and what to avoid. Ruffled Blouse

Tooling around one of my favorite websites to waste time, H&M, and I found this ruffled blouse…and I scooped it immediately! I wanted to wear it with my denim all fall but also thought it would look equally nice with a dark pleated midi skirt (see my Fall Essentials List!). Confirmation came when I saw it on one of my favorite style blogs, Le Catch….

Dressing Hi-Lo

There is an art to dressing hi-lo….and you should start with the “hi” portion first. We also threw in two sale items: the Clare V clutch and Paul Andrew denim and leather slingback pump. BOOM! Sprinkle in your own flavor and

To Be A True Fashion Icon, You Need….

A peacoat! She is a queen of cool…. Emmanuelle Alt – the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris since February 2011, succeeding Carine Roitfeld. She is also well-known for rocking a peacoat – it’s one of the four standard coats that every woman should own. If you’re looking for your own version of reasonably-priced, laidback cool check out

Definitely an interesting read, Grace Coddington’s memoir has been sold to Random House for $1.2 million reportedly and will include her early modeling days in London and her rise to fashion royalty as the current creative director for Vogue. David Beckham has partnered with H&M for an interesting collabo—due out February 2012. I’m very curious to see what this collection will look like. Planning a weekend getaway? Winning Shirt-n-Tie Combinations

Shirt ($415) and tie ($195) by Borelli Shirt and tie combination: a khaki and white check shirt (+) gray flannel tie — (+) a grey or navy suit = classic! Playing it Close to the Vest at H&M

When I say “vest”, what comes to mind?  Personally, I conjure thoughts of Abercrombie & Fitch-esque kids running around or even an old man with a cigar but, not at H&M.  Right now, they have a terrific outdoor, perfect fall date herringbone tweed vest that is worth running in to grab! You can layer it with a sweater and jeans, wear your fitted leather jacket under it perhaps, or go more “blue blood” and pair it with a striped henley

I ask the question because on Saturday (November 14th), H&M debuts the new Jimmy Choo shoe line.  While the shoes range in price from $60 – $200 with the average around $150, is that right?  The normal Jimmy Choo can be wrangled for as low as $400-ish but can clearly go up to $1400+++. The question is easy: would you rather spend your money on new Jimmy Choos for H&M or purchase gently-worn resale Louboutins, Manolos and YSLs?  I realize there may be
