I know we all need some boots for fall and winter so, I went on a hunt to find a couple pair that would be versatile yet affordable. Although I own several pair of black boots with different styling and/or embellishments, I find that myself always running to my basic black in a pinch. A tall, high-heel fittted black boot with just a touch of shine to it can take you places….
- Paired with jeans, a white button-down, a long grey or camel sweater or shawl, and a thick black belt — along with a few necklaces of pearl, silver, and/or gold
- Paired with a black pencil skirt and print shirt — minimal jewelry so as not to compete with the shirt, and a graphite handbag
- Paired with some black leggings and any loose fitting top that hits at least at your pelvic bone (to give you just enough coverage but not too much) — along with a colorful bag for pizazz
- Paired with a grey or camel shift dress and some pearls — for modesty sake!
My three picks are the (1) Michael Antonio Otavia Knee Boot, $80: rounded toebox for more comfort, 16″ shaft, 4.5″ heel inclduing 1′ platform, zip entry along the back seam, slightly shiny black leather upper; (2) Arturo Chiang Tenderness Boot, $180: slightly pointed toe, 15′ shaft, 3 1/4′ heel with no platform, also available in black suede; or (3) Dolce Vita Jake Knee High Boot, $142: 15 1/2′ shaft, 4 1/4′ heel with 1/2′ platform, rounded toebox
