On Tuesday Nov 8th, Vittorio J Group, LLC (VJNY) releases its limited edition Filipino Flag inspired tie. The tie is a variation of their Varick King Skull pattern. The colors on this tie are from the flag of the Philippines and the bottom right skull on the tie is replaced by the “Sun” on the original Filipino national flag. The tie is 100% pure Italian silk, and the slim European cut model tie (3-inch width). “Being born and raised in the Philippines until
October was a fabulous month….if for no other reason than it was my birth month! I’m officially part of the “40 & over gang” and loving it (because I’m convinced I don’t look a day over 32)! Enough about that though….. the month was all about weather. It was actually kinda cold through the East Coast (sucks!), so we were left to think about how to look stylish in our fall regalia for next-to-nothing. Highlight was the Blogalicous conference and the low

October means fall is here — and aside from summer, it’s my favorite month (plus it’s my birthday and Halloween…who doesn’t like an excuse to dress up?!)! This month should bring about big changes in your closet and with your wardrobe. Whether man or woman, white-collar or roadworker, or living la vida loca in LA or clocking miles in the friendly skies, you’ve got to think about where you want to be, how you want to get there, and how you want to
September was a great month for cool posts, savvy style insights and manly must-do’s. Here’s a recap of our favorites for the month (and remember, it’s color-coded with women, men, and both): Mad About Menswear (in conjunction with Daily Style Buzz): the top 9 menswear trends for fall Fall Trend #5, Shimmer: how to rock shimmer everyday, not just on the runway One Dress, Work to Weekend: one $98 dress rocked several ways Happy Birthday Mom: a tribute to a
photo courtesy of Tommy Ton Very rarely do we get to see pictures that remind us how beautiful it is to have hips and to highlight them! That she happens to be tall, is simply a factor of her above-the-knee dress and heels….love it! Can you see yourself looking equally as haute in something this simple? %RELATEDPOSTS%

@froufrouu: Nadia Sarwar, blogger/photographer/stylist (froufrouu.com) I stumbled upon this fabulous fashionista’s photo (below) today while browsing Refinery29’s 50 Street-Style Looks from Fashion’s Finest during NYFW. Juxtaposing masculine accessories with a midi-skirt and blouse, Nadia has such a cool swagger and is so comfortable in her own style—a quality I wish for everyone. Be sure to check out her blog and her amazing photography for lots of stylish inspiration! photo from refinery29.com

Yesterday as part of the Lucky Magazine FABB conference, Express allowed us to walk the runway and get it videotaped. Here is mine…I’ve got real potential!
It’s a bit of an oxymoron right, but there’s so much to do without ever hitting a show (believe me I know). Here are my top to-do’s to enjoy Fashion Week without ever going (or being invited) to a runway show: Fashion’s Night Out: I’m not a personal fan because of all the madness, but if you participate you’ll think you’re int he middle of everything! Department Stores: the majors like Bergdorf Goodman, Saks and Barneys will be showing a
As a Lucky Magazine Alpha Shopper, I’ve been invited to attend their second annual Fashion & Beauty Bloggers Conference (FABB) today. The lineup is packed: the Kardashians, Diane von Furstenberg, Rachel Roy, Rebecca Minkoff, Essie Weingarten (think Essie nail polish), Ben Silbermann (think Pinterest) and the hit parade continues! So why am I going? As a fashion blogger (among many other hats I wear), it’s great chance to network with other influential bloggers about what’s hot and what’s not, what things

If
It’s the proverbial question that pops up this time of year….it could be because no one wants to make any outright fashion faux pas but I kinda think it’s really because everyone still wants to rock their white and not be talked about in the process! The answer is simple – yes, you can wear white after labor BUT there are a few guidelines (read RULES) that one should note and we share them below. White can now be worn

The Washington Post unveiled TheRootDC. Editor, Robert E. Pierre says “It’s a new space that’s all about acknowledgement and conversation, a place to laugh and cry and argue. Oh, and did I mention, to see yourself. This site is meant, in part, to address one of the most persistent criticisms of journalism that I have heard over the past two decades: it doesn’t focus on what matters to you.” I am most excited because Blueprint for Style will be a
The latest major fashion snafu was committed by this month’s edition of Italian Vogue and their slave earring article. The article was supposed to be a trend story on hoop earrings but the headline reads “Slave Earrings” with an image of a model wearing the circular jewelry and text that reads: “If the name brings to the mind the decorative traditions of the women of colour who were brought to the southern United States during the slave trade, the latest interpretation is
