Paris Fashion Week will never be the same…. It was almost an old fashioned Step Show….. The women were steppers that Owens had cast from four US sororities: the Washington Divas, the Soul Steppers, Momentum and the Zetas. The scowls were “grit face,” an expression “intended to intimidate the competition.” Rick Owens told press, “We’re rejecting conventional beauty, creating our own beauty.” Check it out….

This is Melbourne’s week-long haute couture pow-wow is March 18-24. This annual celebration of fashion, beauty, business and creative endeavor for everyone to enjoy. OK so I had such a blast rocking the runway for #NYFW wearing my Old Navy Rockstar Jeans (colored skinny jeans) in kelly green and I’ve got pictures to prove it. It was not only fun but I may have found my new/latest calling!! It was exciting – the music, the behind-the-stage directions and guidance, the energy from the other bloggers walking and snapping quick photos, the crowd cheering as you hit the runway, doing your strut or sashay down

Tory Burch‘s runway theme could have been aptly titled, “The Walk of Shame” kinda….”a prim and proper girl who falls for the wrong guy—in a hotel no less.” Style Notes: it was very Tory Burch with models rocking gloves and very ladylike chic purses; they were more buttoned up than not; the colors were fairly low key with creams and blues with hints of aubergine and earthiness; and the hemlines that hit just below the knee created thoughts of the
Doo Ri Chung‘s runway show was ‘business as usual’ and she returned to her well known roots as a “drapaing” queen. The overall palette was not colorful ~ highlighted by pale pink, browns and eggplant. Diane von Furstenberg named her collection “Rendezvous” ~ the program notes said, “Glamorous at a moment’s notice” and that’s that she gave! Style Notes: The collection used black as a staple but showed a wonderful array of reds, teals, soft dewy pinks, and touches of yellow and aubergine. It was amazingly flowy (read: feminine) without taking you into evening-wear unwillingly; and the bonus were the opera-length gloves featured on several of the models….beautiful and richly colored! I admired the European, curated casual look that hit the runway but even more intrigued by Michael Bastian‘s naming his show “The Extra Man”. Here’s the scoop as Style.com tells it: So-called “extra men” have a storied history in polite society: they’re natural-born charmers, called upon to make up numbers at the table, dance with undesirables, and escort other men’s wives to functions when the ladies’ husbands can’t be bothered. Tracy Reese never disappoints and this collection is no different. Style Notes: the collection was based in black but piled loads of vibrant colors like orange, teal and goldtones; the silhouettes were feminine but not overly fitted although the hemlines were a littel shorter than other collections; prints and textur variations throughout made this fabulous Runway to Walkway: just about every piece could walk off the runway and into the everyday diva’s closet without much fuss (except perhaps the price);
Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs fashioned their collection after Pedro Almodóvar’s twisted tale, The Skin I Live and thus featured cutouts, some bandage-y type dresses, visible zippers, and a certain type of perverse sexiness in the dresses. Almodóvar’s grim and morbid tale talks of a surgeon’s desire to create skin that cannot burn because his now-deceased wife committed suicide following a car accident in which she was burned to a cinder.
