the power of pivoting

2020 was supposed to be a different kind of year – full of promise, collaborations, and business successes (that’s what I asked God for). And then COVID-19 jumped upon the scene and well….I guess 2020 has been different but just not in the way I was expecting!

If you are an entrepreneur then you understand what it means to pivot or change direction. As my mother used to say, ‘if you don’t bend, you’ll break‘. As an entrepreneur, you have to quickly assess a situation and turn lemons into lemonade or limoncella…fast. The pandemic shut down my business prospects almost immediately and, after an intense but quick cry, I started thinking about how I could shift my business and pivot in a new direction.

Admittedly coming up with ideas was easier than implementing them – I am still trying to figure out how to do some of them (or get up enough courage to try) – but I’m on my way to rethinking the plan and the business.

My three new main areas of focus are:

  1. Growing my online style school and courses
  2. Sharing more virtual content via my newsletter and the blog
  3. Finishing my second book – a guidebook for female Creatives to reinvent and realign their style & brand in the new economy (stay tuned!!)

How have you pivoted because of the pandemic?

Share and let’s all grow together!
