Spa Review: Cape Grace

During our time in Cape Town, Johnica and I were given the opportunity to luxuriate at The Spa at Cape Grace– and that we did!  While we stayed at The Table Bay Hotel, it was Cape Grace’s recently renovated and upgraded hotel and services that left our mouth agasp and let the hectic pace melt away.

Cape Grace, a member of The Leading Small Hotels of the World, is a 121-bed ‘home away from home’ that bows gracefully (no pun intended) to African tradition and heritage in its restoration, artwork, room decor, customer service and spa services.  Each floor has a color palette tied to the traditional colors of South Africa..and each hallway and room is a veritable history lesson of the Dutch and English settlers.  The spa is an invitation to explore the mystery and lore of African heritage through body treatments.

Cape Grace_massageWe experienced a body treatment that started with a story of how African medicine doctors calmed the spirit and then incorporated snowbush-scented shea butter with the full body massage!  As if the spa weren’t enough, the hotel also features a full whiskey & wine bar, a heated outdoor pool, wireless throughout the hotel, luxury chauffeur transfer service within a 12-mile radius and Signal which was voted Best Deluxe Restaurant in August 2009!

I can’t speak for anyone else but, I am working feverishly to confirm my space for the 2010 FIFA World Cup!  Don’t wait too much long because hotels are filling quickly and, needless to say, a top rated hotel experience like Cape Grace won’t be available long, or for cheap!!.
