Day 1: Bangkok, Thailand

{Jatujak Market}
{Jatujak Market}

I’m not even gong to bore you with the nonsense that transpires upon my arrival to Bangkok. Suffice it to say that I am here! I slept like my life depended on it and that what it felt like after being up for almost 36 hours….

So today was Sunday and that means it’s all about the Chatuchak/Jatujak Market ~ which is open on Saturdays and Sundays and houses everything from pots, pans, shorts, food, t-shirts, cutlery, leather bags, glassware, tchotchkes, to whatever you can dream up! And with the USD in hand, everything was up for negotiation and likely to be half as much as you thought! Here’s a quick glimpse of the market…

OK – I didn’t buy anything other than food…because I’m focused on paring down, not accumulating. Big takeaway: very friendly place and worthy of a walk through for gifts and odds n ends, enjoy as much food as possible, and anyone who knows me knows I’m scared of pigeons – I only saw one!! WINNING!!

BTW – it’s super accessible too. Jump on the BTS line and get off at the last stop (Mo Chit) and you can’t miss it!

Style assessment: I assume because it’s the weekend, everyone was casual and in their “chillin” attire however, the overwhelming trend if fitted pants for men and women, casual shoes, and t-shirts. Although I half-expected to see people doing ‘cutting edge’ perhaps the work week will hold more style notes….
