Forget Hunter boots! We’ve found the new-best-thing….. Produced in Hokkaido, Japan. Originally designed for use in paddy farming, but just as much at home on city streets. The boots are placed in a chamber to be pressurized and heated to 130°F (54°C), ensuring that the rubber is toughened and that all seams are fully bonded. Only in black but, so what they’re foldable! $129 ~ at Sebastian Kaufmann [http://store.kaufmann-mercantile.com/collections/accessories-gifts/products/foldable-japanese-rubber-boots?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=NL_foldable_boots_boot_jack_2013_03_28&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Wellington+Boots+Boot+Jack&utm_content=Wellington+Boots+Boot+Jack+Version+B+CID_2a06316ba56d34eb89584c727612ba55&utm_source=newsletter&utm_term=wellies6jpg]
We spotted Olivia Palermo with a pair of metallic top cap heels {yes, she’s one of my style icons} and because spring is coming – I’m literally willing it to come – these shoes are idea to add a little pep in your step. BONUS: they are only $26….here! SPRING HAS SPRUNG!! Here are a few more looks at metallic shoes here and here.
Coach is a American classic. They’ve done some rebranding and upgrading. The new Coach is more creative, sophisticated, and a bit more to the right of what you’d expect! They have introduced their Spring 2013 Shoe Collection and while there may not be any “showstoppers”, there are plenty of options that will make getting dressed easier and your outfit perfectly finished. My favorite (heels, of course) is the lucy heel in light tan and silver ($238).
I’m always honored when friends and clients ask me for advice ~ it’s a chance to share my expertise and what I love; and I get to help someone feel and look better as well. So when Essence Magazine asked for some style advice to share with career women dressing up from day to night, desk to date, day to dinner, I was again honored….and replied quickly. I saw it. I loved it. I thought of Proenza Schouler. I obsess over navy blue. It’s mine ~ it has all of the attributes of a blazer but a little more substantial for spring! Scoop it at ASOS, $144 [http://rstyle.me/~jGZ6]
Don’t get me wrong, I love my living room ~ the colors, my accumulated items, and my overly busy coffee table (yikes!). That said, when Target approached me with the opportunity to use their new Target Threshold line to redecorate one room in my house, I jumped on it! The living room is my main entertaining area and it needed some love ~ an opportunity to bring spring quicker (fingers crossed) and create some color continuity~ and when I checked
Well not mask my age but to help ensure I’m aging gracefully….the Chella Resurfacing Enzyme & Lactic Acid Mask is the truth! Recently, my beauty blogger bestie @JuliaConey put together a travel beauty kit for me given my non-stop string of flying around hte world (including Argentina and Australia across a two week period). As part of the kit, she gave me a sample of this mask. I tried it one night while I’m in my room because my skin
I’ve been doing quite a bit of traveling these last few weeks and it looks like the pace will continue…although we’ll see if out-of-country remains the slant. That said, I’m always looking for cool stuff that will bring a little bit of home with me but won’t take up too much space! Two #travel must-haves: travel candle tunes So when I learned about Frends headphones, I got excited ~they come in black/silver, and white/rose gold or gold — completely hot
I’m a sneaker feen ~ and I didn’t know it! But I saw these Adidas Roundhouse sneakers [for men] and got jealous! They’re cute, sleek, and make a statement but not too loudy. They come in a variety of colors including the black on grey [pictured below] but also a silver on black and seven other options! I don’t hoop but wish I did…. Agree?
There are a few folks that I am always “checking for” in terms of style and overall image and appearance ~ Miroslava Duma is one. The editor of Harper’s Bazaar Russia is on. Can you say ‘love her‘?! She’s always chic whether with a casual slant or going all-out. I imagine her jumping up and down on her bed every morning as she’s getting dressed and having fun putting together her look for the day. The words that come to mind

LOOK FOR… A semifitted style that hits at the point where the hips start to curve out or that just covers the derriere. Belted styles are also flattering. AVOID… Cropped shapes and styles that button up to the neck. DON’T FORGET… • Always choose single-breasted styles. • Look for a closure right below the bustline. • Keep lines simple. • Opt for narrow, not exaggerated, lapels. Read more styling tips here.

A knowledgeable woman (or man) is the makings of a stylish woman (or dapper don). While I read the entire piece about Hermès‘ Dumas, what I thought you’d love are these five little-known facts about the iconic name/brand: The length of thread necessary to make 1,000 Hermès carrés (scarves) is equal to the distance between the earth and the moon. One silk moth yields one scarf. The Kelly bag is made with 36 pieces of leather and 680 hand stitches.
