Dressing Up My Room

Don’t get me wrong, I love my living room ~ the colors, my accumulated items, and my overly busy coffee table (yikes!). That said, when Target approached me with the opportunity to use their new Target Threshold line to redecorate one room in my house, I jumped on it!

The living room is my main entertaining area and it needed some love ~ an opportunity to bring spring quicker (fingers crossed) and create some color continuity~ and when I checked out the homewares line online, I loved their stuff!!

IMG_0223Before: I went to Target focused on the “little things” that would put on smile on my face and offer a bit more “warmth” and “color” to  the space as well as add some comfort to the room.

After: I achieved a nicer mix of warmth and comfort with more color infused in the scheme. It needed a few things to bring it together and jazz it up….goal accomplished!

Target’s Threshold collection will definitely get you thinking about how to creatively and stylishly update your room. I started out my adventure thinking I’d do my bedroom and went to Target set on that. Upon arrival however, I got caught up in the living room items and went in that direction ~ the result was pleasing and I actually finished writing my post from my sofa with my candles  lit and new floral lamp on!

Lessons learned & advice shared:

  • Depending on the size of your room, a budget of $250 – $300 will allow you to fully move from one look to something new
  • the Threshold collection offers a refreshing mix of warm tones mixed with cooler colors {like my throw pillow!}
  • don’t try to coordinate everything ~ opt for items that have some common colors and then just play around
  • don’t get caught up with all of the cute candles and little items; stay focused on mood-changing pieces like lamps, throws and rugs

I’m pleased as punch and have already invited my girlfriends over to enjoy some Australian wine that made it back from my recent trip. The date is set ~ the wine is here ~ the room is restyled ~ let the festivities begin!!

It’s the right mix of classic and modern. An effortless elegance. Beautiful, yet affordable. Designed for a lifetime of housewarmings. It’s everything you’ll love about your home.
