Across the last month or so, I have encountered more thn a few relatively “put together” men who don’t know how to walk the line between work (whether business suit and wing tips, or jeans, plaid shirt and Timberlands) and “going out”. Therefore, today’s fall fashion must-have is a pair of casual shoes for everyday dinners, drinks and just plain hanging out!
If we comb the pages of GQ, Details, and Style, we’ll find lots of options and while they may not al appeal to you, there are a few guidelines to follow when searching for the perfect “chillax” shoe including
- It should not involve a “workboot”
- It can be shoelace-free (i.e. loafer)
- It should be made from animal skin (i.e. leather, suede, nubuck)
- Nowhere should elastic be a substitute for laces
- Simple and understated is always best!
Alright then, shall we begin: [nggallery id=15]
- bert 4, $107: grey suede and cognac leather….total manliness!
- m13 wing tip boot, $405: definitely a little on the derssier side but easily styled down with a pair of jeans or khakis
- rachel comey moss boot, $385: the beauty of this boot lies in the moss coloring (which goes with all things brown, black or navy) and natural wood sole!
- barry 2, $114: it’s an incognito wing tip! the slightly heavier sole keeps it casual but you can even head to work on Friday’s in these
- iron ranger boots, $270: (MY FAVORITE!) this boot is manly, comes off casual in its slightly worn, vintage look but also says sophisticated in itscring and contrast double-top stitching
