The Burke Trouser

I love denim and, as much as the 70’s glam trend doesn’t love me, I love it!  Enter: the Burke Trouser by Genetic Denim.  A slight play off the 70’s silhouette with its wide leg and hip pockets, I received them in gusto and instantly feel in love with the lightweight denim (idela for spring and early fall).

Because of the 70’s feel, the legs run long (35″ inseam) while the waist and hip are more snug especially for a woman with curves.  The 9″ rise is ample enough to avoid showing any cracks and should rest nicely right at the belly bottom.  They have a worn in, mild distressing which make them ideal for weekend errands without looking too bummy.

Overall Style Notes: the lightweight material make these a keeper, but the wide leg and fitted hip/rise may make it a bit challenging. They are the perfect Saturday jeans with a hint of deconstructed distressing, but just a hint of polish to keep them haute! Score: 7.5
