Similar to our recent article on Madison’s shopping manifesto, Tucker (our fictitious but charming Fashionelle) wants to turn his everyday uniform of dress slacks and staid button-down shirts into something a little more hip and flexible. Tucker is at a point in his life where he wants to do more international travel, and do more hanging with his guys at some of the annual golf events and music festivals.
Let’s run wild with Tucker’s money!
- Sneakers by Creative Recreation, DiCoco Lo in Navy/Vintage/Cement at $95
- Shoes by B Store, Velour Cuero Natlike at $323; Rock & Republic Chico Slip On at $270 (nothing says quiet confidence like a sweet pair of slip ons!)
- Chambray long sleeve shirt at$40 (great over a tee, under a sweater, or by itself!)
- Madras plaid shirt at $30….this adds color without complications!
- Linen Cotton Stand Color Jacket at $59
- JCrew Cashmere V-neck Sweater at $100 (light olive, camel, citron will transition to fall nicely)
- Striped polo, from $20-60…they’re ubiquitous; get a striped one because there are too many solids in the closet already!
- Hope Duke Blazer, Broken Tweed at $171 (Tweed goes into fall easily and creates an easy, pulled together look)
- Joe’s Jeans, Overlap Coin Pocket in Clay at $171
- Belted Cordlane Half Pants, $30
- Relaxed fit straight jeans at $40 (they can go from BBQ to casual date very quick!)
- A fabulous timepiece — understated elegance and sophistication but screams class means a tank watch with a leather band…the Cartier Tank Divan ($870) puts you over by about $200 but it’s worth it
Disadvantages of items purchased:
- Not a lot of color
- Clothing material won’t travel well thus, requires additional prep time
Advantages of these items:
- Everything can be interchanged easily
- All items are complementary to most male builds
- Doesn’t rely completely on current business
Tucker has more than enough ammo to get in with the ladies – whether his lyrics can keep them is another story…not enough space on this post!.

I like most of your comments an suggestions – howver I would like for you to include a simple blue blazer – double vented – a timeless classic
Edge- thanks for the feedback! In this particular case, our focus was to get Tucker away from business/work attire and to add some spice so, a blue blazer is a great business basic but doesn’t really create ‘flavor’ for Tucker. Rather a patterned blazer, like tweed, allows for more flexibility to head out!
My husband and I have a hell of a time buying quality clothing for him…there is so little in his size an a lot of “tall” sizes don’t come close to fitting. Considering that female fashion models are taller than average, it seems odd the the prototypical fashionable man is like 5’8″!
Kryss, have you and your husband considered buying of the rack and securing a fabulous tailor?
