Girls Night In: Out, Conversation & Polish

Girls Night In is a fun tradition that I share with my g’friends and while life has been somewhat hectic lately, we managed to sneak one in this past Saturday compliments of Sally Hansen!

The weather was perfect ~ that matters because we started outside at the firepit with an Argentinian Malbec. We got in great conversation mostly about summer travel plans and a fall girls weekend that needed to happen {I can’t promise pictures from that…} After relaxing a bit and when the fired faded, we moved inside for the fun stuff. The snacks had to be slightly healthy but, nail-friendly [which means nothing too sticky or flaky] ~ I settled on chocolate-covered almonds, white cheddar popcorn, and drinks that would keep us going into the night…..coconut water and mango-banana shakes!!

We had already gotten ‘greedy’ on my favorite snack – chips & guacamole – so when we went inside, the other slightly healthier snacks and dinner were welcome.

All of the yummy snacks were scooped during my Walgreens run using my Balance Rewards card.

With our fun colors we focused on colorblocking…..not too crazy but enough to get a sideeye or double-take! This photo worked as our inspiration….

The results were fabulous! And we even took inspiration from some of our nail celebs and used tape {painted it, cut it into strips and applied it to the nails}!

Now, we may not be the best or get as much zest as you would, so you can also check out some nail tips for doing colorblocking here {Color Block}. If doing it yourself seems daunting, opt for something more simple like gel polish which happens to be on sale ~ WINNING {Insta Gel Starter Kits $19.99}. All in all, a fab night out n’ in with great conversation and all the trappings of a nail polish party fit for princesses!

  1. Andrea- exactly! I stuck with red as the primary and got a little zesty with a couple nails so I could still function everyday; thanks!!

  2. I appreciate the information. I’ll have to try the Sally Hansen products. My only complaint is that I didn’t get an invite to the party.
