Top Shopped Trends of 2010

Does anyone use eBay?  I’ve only recently hit the site – and I am now addicted!  I have found the most fabulous items including a vintage Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) scarf that I am excited to wear often.  Enough about my bad habits (that I am trying to reform in 2011), I am creating this post to share some fabulous information.

This year, eBay created a list of the top shopped trends as well as pop culture obsessions of 2010, and the Blueprint for Style team thought it fitting to share.  Why?  Simple — ask yourself if you ‘participated’ in any of these trends, if there were a few that you just missed, or perhaps some that you were in complete disagreement with….ultimately, it’s a glimpse into the everyday American’s biggest cash spends of 2010!

  1. Military jackets ~ loved them but this was year 2!
  2. Plaid ~ always been wonderful….in doses (i.e., gingham)
  3. 1950s ~ essentially post-war glamour which can never go out of style
  4. Neon ~ I think we missed this (whew!)
  5. Marc Jacobs ~ it’s all because of the fragrance, Bang
  6. Feathers ~  very ostentatious but we saw a few glimpses of everyday chicness
  7. Faux fur ~ very eco-friendly but I do LOVE real fur!
  8. Tory Burch ~ ever since that Reva we’ve all been addicted to her effortless chic albeit slightly overpriced
  9. Ankle boots ~ a fun trend that we’re ready to see laid to rest
  10. Leopard print ~ this has been a terrific trend that should stay around….channel our inner-animal!

Well, what do you think?

  1. I totally agree with the military jacket and the plaids. You saw more plaid shirts, socks, vest and ties this year. I loved it!!!

BfS thanks for all you did for your readers in 2010. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in 2011!!!
