Tokyo Fashion: deuxcotes Designworks

I had the opportunity to visit a number of designers and retailers while in Tokyo, but one of my favorite retailers was abahouse Designworks in Ginza.  Have a look at their A/W 2010 fashions.  They know how to work knits, asymmetrical styling, clean lines, and fur!!  I feel in love with most of their knots which run around ¥ 24,000 to 28,000 (approx $320 to 375).

*The leather is sumptuous but requires some ‘working in’…it’s all been polished to a shine! Note the gold heels (an embellishment that is very popular in Tokyo).

*Fedoras are a trend that seems to be catching momentum and asymmetrical styling is very big.

*Fur is a huge hit in Toyko though most is faux; greys and taupes are winners as well!

*A splash of color, and likely more than one color, is what’s in; and the easy but clean lines make it very wearable by just about anyone.

*Black is a staple and tights are as well.  You’ll find the younger set sporting knee-highs (that hit just above the knee instead of below) as all the rage!

*Black and boots make this simple fabulous.

*The mid-length coats with extra fabric are popular, yet not so easily worn if you’re frame isn’t as petite….

*Booties are all over the place….especially with tights and “knee highs”.
