Pierre Francois Lubin became the apprentice of Tombarelli, a master perfumer of Grasse, in the south of France He completed his apprenticeship under Fargeon, perfumer to the Royal Court Jean Louis Fargeon created a special fragrance for Marie Antoinette which she carried in a small flask of black jade everywhere she went Once the house of Lubin was established in 1798, the fragrance was resuscitated….soft, feminine fragrances of rose and jasmine and exotic tones of patchouli, cinnamon, sandalwood and vanilla
