Although summer is my favorite season, fall runs a close second….mostly for the colors and the ability to create luxe layering.
My house has a stone patio with a firepit in the backyard, and it becomes my “resting place” in the evenings [with a glass of wine] and most weekends.
Last year, I started having friends join in the backyard fun and called them #BrooklandCampfire (pictures). It’s just friends sitting outside around a blazing fire, laughing, recounting summer madness, and trying to stay warm.
Because it’s my backyard, I customarily find something comfy, that will be okay in the night air, and can take the chill off if I’m not directly positioned next to either firepit. This fall my answer will be this hefty ash grey hooded sweater!
Long enough, cozy, thick but not unbearable, and perfect layering.
