Nighttime Nougat

It’s summertime which means, for most, we’re beginning to bear our souls and our flesh….even if there’s more flesh than we’d like!  Yet, as we plunge feet-first into the weekend and hopefully a refreshing pool as well, it occurs to me that our fascination (aka fixation) on body image is an American curse….

While vacationing in Brazil, I noticed full-figured women reveling in their womanliness and men unabashedly strutting in their speedos.  Now wait – – I am NOTadvocating that men should start wearing speedos because I appreciate discretion but confidence is beautifulWe have to stop measuring our self-worth by our waist size, or chest size, or hip size….we’ve reduced our happiness (at least our summer happiness) to our appearance and our clothes.  It sounds weird coming from an Image Consultant, Personal Styling & Branding but, it shouldn’t because — our entire mission is to help individuals find and express their best selves which actually means coming to grips with our best features as well as the areas we’d like to leave covered up!

We just created an article called the 10 Commandments of Swimsuits— it’s all the helpful information you need to highlight your best assets.  Let’s agree to spend the summer “pretending” to adopt the Brazilian way of life because “beauty fits every size“!
