Movie: A Thousand Words

I like Eddie Murphy (don’t love him though), but I love Kerry Washington. Actually, more accurately, I love Kerry’s style ~ always tasteful, feminine, fun, a bit flirty, and confident so when I was asked to talk about her upcoming move, A Thousand Words, that was an easy sell. From all appearances, she seems to be extremely grounded and easygoing but with a bit of zesty undertone…who knows if I’m right but if her clothes are any indication of the woman then I’m dead-on!

During an interview, here’s what Kerry had to say {and my unsolicited interpretations}:

  • When asked what drew her to the movie, she said “I really love that the story is about the value and importance of communication, and of saying what you mean, and meaning what you say.” Communication is not only a value, it’s a virtue….that is undervalued and under-appreciated ~ I hope this movie makes me laugh while thinking about something so deep!
  • Kerry mentioned Diahann Carroll as one of her inspirations ~ OMG Diahann has always been one of the fliest and most fabulous black women on television….{I see where Kerry is stealing some of her style insights from….!}
  • When asked how she saw herself given that she is a “Black female actor”, Kerry shares what I think may be part of what makes her so easy to identify with, “I try to just live it day-by-day and make choices along the way that feel like the best [ones].
  • We love Kerry and follow her on twitter ~ and you should too!

In the meantime, check out the movie trailer here…
