1. Color of the Season ~ Orange

Every season has its “it” color and the same goes for the designer swimwear industry.  For 2012, it’s all about orange.  Delicious fruit-inspired hues such as cantaloupe, mango, papaya and peach are all huge this season, perfect for all complexions.  In addition, designer swimwear styles done in orange-infused cayennes and spice oranges are popping up everywhere.  Finally, neon orange coral shades are back for 2012 and will complement that fresh new tan.

2. Colored Animal Prints

Like in the general fashion world, animal prints are a classic look for designer swimwear.  But for 2012, our favorite fashionably fierce prints got a brand new makeover!  This season, expect to see your favorite animal prints recreated with lots and lots of color!  Think leopard prints done in cool shades of blue, black and white zebra prints with pops of lime, python prints in trendy orange hues and more!  The print and color combos are endless and are perfect for those who love to stand out.

3. Cool Color-blocking

Finally, trends in designer swimwear tend to get inspiration from trends from the runway, and color-blocking is definitely the must-try trend of the season!  Color-blocking can be done in a number of different ways.  For a subtle look, try black and white color-block swim styles or those featuring a sleek color-block strip.  For a bolder look, go for swimwear styles featuring a number of different colorful hues!  You can even create your own color-block look by mixing and matching separates that you already own!  Either way, this designer swimwear trend will have you looking oh-so stylish at the beach or pool!
