For the Tough Chic Chick

Well tough chic is one of the predominant themes for fall fashion and the upside is that it allows ladies to mix up their outer prim-and-proper along with their inner biker-chick…and stay fashionable.  However, to remain stylish and still be able to wear the same pieces next year, Blueprint advises buyers to lean a little more heavily to the prim-and-proper slightly (just a tad).

luxury rebel booties $275Here are two great examples of tough chic boots that are hip and very now, but will also not have you losing it next fall when a new trend surfaces!  The first pair are for the tough chic ladies who want a little extra tough and versatility (Luxury Rebel Victoria booties, $275).  The French shoe designer, Cazabat, added leather piping at the foot to give it a tough-as-nails edge and the fold-over cuff kept it very current — but with a quick roll up of the cuff, the 8.5 inch shaft and 4-inch stacked heel became much more demure.  It works great with pants, skirts, and leggings.  They also come in a light beige leather and camel suede…

The second pair are for those of us ladies who want to dip their toe in tough chic withoutplatform boots $575 jumping in (Coclico Niben Platform Boots, $575).  The 3.25 inch wooden platform and 15-inch shaft were designed by French expatriate Sandra Canselier and while it stuck to the straight and narrow, the antiqued studs around the base of the boot spiced it up.  I’m in love with the rich dark brown leather that will only look better with time…

Tough chic can be down — full blown or in moderation.  Figure which is right for you!.
