Do You Have Your Easter Outfit?

Does anyone remember when you used to go shopping with your mom for your Sunday Easter outfit?  For the guys, the outfit was usually a camel colored suit or perhaps a suit jacket along with some lighter colored slacks….  And for the ladies, it was some pastel-colored dress with crinoline, bows or big ties, and some white or patent leather shoes!

Well in spite of how crazy it may look to us now, I miss those days…..they “officially” kicked off spring and all its wonder and promise of warmer weather.

So, today’s question is: did you get your Easter outfit yet?  If so, do share and, if not, why not?

  1. No Easter outfit for me!I’m a bit too old for an Easter outfit and it’s such a waste of money, can anyone say COMMERICAL. If I have something new in my closet, I simply refuse to even wear it on Easter.

That said, I’ll pass the tradition on to my children until they’re at least 5/6 y.o. They’ll have the black patent shoes and poofy dresses…LMBO

  2. No easter outfit yet….but this post makes me think back to some awesome childhood outfits. My sister and I would get an elaborate dress for each Easter. My all time favorite was white with rainbow pinstripes. It had a big twirly skirt, and a rope of rainbow ribbons for a belt. It was awesome.

  3. my Easter outfit is a new pair of jeans!!! the two pair I own are out-dated… any ideas??? (hint: i’m over 40, so no teenie-bopper looks…)

  4. No Easter outfit for me. I just found out when Easter is! I am thinking of going hiking…any suggestions?

  5. Joelle- we at Blueprint for Style are not hiking experts so, clearly my first recommendation would be to head to REI or the likes!! Beyond that, I’d say hiking boots, thin but absorbent socks, and lots of layers (very similar to our recommendations for the current weather)!! Good luck, be safe and have fun!

  6. Patrick- my quick recommendations for professional men who want to look their age but remain stylish would be (1) APC jeans, (2) Gap jeans, or (3) Citizens of Humanity. All make great, simple denim that wear well and long, and don’t have excessive embellishments. There are lots of others but, for a fairly nominal spend, focus on these three.
