Airport Chic is Back

Let’s be honest: somewhere between TSA lines and $8 granola bars, airport style took a nose dive. But not anymore, Airport Chic is Back, and it’s making stylish layovers the new status symbol.

Looking polished while traveling doesn’t mean squeezing into stiff denim (jeans are my go-to, though!) or a blazer with no give. It’s about comfort and brand alignment. Yes, you can recline in 8C without looking like you just rolled out of bed.

Here’s your no-fail 4-piece airport uniform:

✦ The Airport Chic Formula

  1. A structured jacket or wrap: Think cardigan-coat hybrids, utility shackets, bomber jackets, or an oversized blazer for layering ease
  2. Comfy-but-stylish bottoms: Stretchy trousers, elevated joggers, or the Gramercy pants (more on those soon)
  3. A breathable top: Merino wool tee, long-sleeved knit, or wrinkle-resistant blouse
  4. Slip-on shoes with polish: Loafers, Chelsea boots, Tieks, or fashion sneakers with support (so you can move through TSA in a jiffy)

Bonus: a large tote or weekender bag with a zipped pouch to keep essentials (passport, charger, lip balm) at your fingertips.

Why It Matters

You never know who’s sitting at Gate A4, perhaps your next client, board member, or that fashion-forward ex you definitely want to flex on. Your airport look should say: “I’m going places… literally and professionally.”
