David Yurman came to be as a result of presenting his then girlfriend, Sybil, with a love token that she, in turn, essentially sold off her wrist to a gallery owner back in the 70s! Since then, Yurman estimates that more then 300,000 customers have purchased one (or more) of his cable pieces. Of the hundreds of thousands of pieces that are sold, roughly half are cable bracelets!
Yurman has experimented with metal treatments, retooled lines to include diamonds, and now offers a rainbow of gemstones. To celebrate his 20th anniversary, the new collection will feature diamonds suspended on wire. But it’s the Cable Collection which debuted in 1983 that catapulted Yurman’s career. That line also laid groundwork for the 18k gold collections, Cable Kids, a men’s collection, and the 1994 Cable Watch Collection.
Yurman is working through his new collection now so, wait and see!
