Outfits/Complete Looks

1 Piece, 5 Work Outfits

Start with a dark-colored shift dress……

Monday: Add a crisp white blouse underneath, a multi-strand pearl necklace, and a pair of classic black pumps for a conservative riff on the school girl uniform.  A perfectly professional way to start your week.

Tuesday: I happen to love purple as an accent, but this look will work with any color (think turquoise, red, or emerald green).  It’s a great way to add a pop of color without going overboard at the office–just try to keep things in the same color family, but don’t go nuts trying to match exactly.

Wednesday: Get over the mid-week hump with a look that’s both fashion forward and classic “lady who lunches.”  A tweed jacket can tend to look a little staid, but tie a scarf in a totally contrasting pattern around your neck, and suddenly it’s totally fresh.  You can wear the same black pumps as Monday, too.

Thursday: A young, edgy, still-appropriate way to rock this dress is with boots with a wedge or a heel.  They look dressier than flat ones, and when you add a blazer, a pair of opaque tights, and one major statement necklace (or a few smaller ones layered), you’ve got a very now look.

Friday: If your office has a casual Friday policy, it’s the perfect time to break out a more relaxed look. Put a cardigan on top of the dress, a belt over the cardigan, and a pair of textured tights underneath. Wearing those tights with heels may look a little too Saturday night out, so stick with a simple pair of ballet flats.
