After having one made, I now realize every woman should own a tuxedo. It doesn’t have to be custom but, a tuxedo is such a great way to do elevated and chic while keeping it somewhat low-key. An evening gown can’t go as many places as a tuxedo can.

- for date night with jeans
- to go from work to networking event
- as a guest at a late afternoon wedding
- with a tee shirt for Saturday evening drinks with friends
- with flip-flops for lunch on the French Riviera
- as an overcoat with a LBD
- channeling my inner Victor-Victoria
- …and so too many more to mention!
Consider a tuxedo first as an alternative to a formal gown that can be mixed-and-matched. Mine is midnight navy (my favorite color!) and fashioned after an old blazer that I loved dearly. Custom is cool but off-the-rack + tailoring works too.
