Add these 3️⃣ pieces to your fall wardrobe (and I’m digging into my closet to share examples) if you want a better Visual Resume™️:
- Colorful scarf (or pocket square)
- Patterned tights (or print socks)
- Dark-colored or navy knit blazer
While the list can be longer, these are three easy ways to improve your Visual Resume™ and elevate any overall outfit.
1️⃣ > A scarf or pocket square is unexpected so the ‘element of surprise’ gives you automatic points. A colorful accessory allows you to bridge two solid colors together and add a little personality to the mix as well. Fashionable, unexpected, elevated, and versatile – winning!
2️⃣ > Similar to the first item, patterned tights or print socks take something ordinary and expected, and turn them into something eye-catching in the best way possible. To have a shorter skirt/dress or even pants, and then to have a pattern or print ‘pop’ gives new life to your look. And in both instances, the cost difference between these and non-patterned/print hosiery is nonexistent – another W!
3️⃣ > You cannot avoid that, at some point in your ascent, you will need to look pulled together without a moment’s notice and one of the easiest ways to do this is by adding a “third layer” or, more specifically, a dark-colored or navy blazer. A third layer adds polish; a darker color elevates it even more, and the cherry on top is when it’s well-fitting and with knit, the fit is typically softer and more relaxed thus yielding a nicer fit.
