Is there ever an occasion when your weekend “bag” should be smaller, something in the pouch family? While I love my large/oversized weekend bags, I find there’s some freedom in just having the essentials. While Chiara Totire rocks a small chained pouch, I found an equally shiny bauble at Etienne Aigner. This shiny, metallic pouch has space enough to carry the essentials but still provide minimal style. Even Harper’s Bazaar featured it….
I love scarves but only recently have I gotten into silk scarves – much daintier, more daytime wearable, and more flexible in terms of ways to wear it. Here are five ways I’m going to rock my new silk scarves — with look #4 being my favorite! Which way is your favorite? I found a few great silk scarves to get you started too….. Oprah had 24 resolutions for 2016 in her January issue – as a stylist, we agree with seven (7) of them! Give up matchy-matchy Get out of the all-black “mortuary fabulous” zone Nix slouchy for weekend attire Get a professional bra fitting Find your “power dress” Invest in beautiful pj’s and sleep better! Do more than just denim Are you guilty of any of these? Are any missing?! If you want to amp it up a notch, then check out
Guys don’t need much but, from the female perspective, an update on your weekend look is at “mission critical” status… Right now, we’re looking at sweatpants, college sweatshirts, old running sneakers, haggard tees, and yellowed undershirts — not to mention the underwhelming pleated khakis. The ladies of the world have united and asked for you to find some new weekend duds…..and here’s where we start! {note: every item is an additional 20% off using code “EXTRA20OFFSALE”}. Duck, NC worked wonders! In spite of a 4 hour, 30 minute trip there (back was grueling since it started to snow……), I returned home relaxed and in a better #headspace. While I had originally planned to go as a way to rack up miles on the Toyota Highlander and do some work, it turned out to be the perfect opportunity to be open and receptive to what was to come and how to prepare for it. Add this to
I was sitting at a meeting a couple of weeks ago and one of my fellow JLWers sits down and slaps this gorgeous NOTES journal on the table. I politely waited until after the meeting to inquire (via email) and she responded that she had found it ‘out and about’. I set out to find it, secure it, and then….share the joy! Here’s the skinny: it’s by Eccolo Ltd (a family-owned business based in Brooklyn, NY) 8 x 10 inches
I was keen on road tripping because Toyota gave me a new 2016 Highlander Limited for my “Dress for Success” seminar in Burlington, NJ on Martin Luther King Jr Day….yes, I was called to work! The moms of Jack & Jill’s Burlington Willingboro, NJ Chapter were sponsoring an event for disadvantaged women in the area. Speakers shared insight on financial management, managing stress, exercise essentials and, of course, dressing for success. My cold early morning departure was made a little

2015 saw lots of “cool” terms and the rise of a number of food trends. The top ones included: “locally sourced” – if it wasn’t local or nearby apparently it was no good…. kale – it was in almost everything you ate…for the earlier part of the year pomegranate – one of the super foods outsourced grocery shopping – we are a nation of conveniences so the idea of ordering food that could be delivered in the right portion size was awesome sauce! Yay Blue
I was determined to keep this holiday season low-key and relaxed, and it was going to start with a leisurely drive to my sister and brother-in-law’s house in Connecticut. I planned to leave in mid-December (one of the benefits of being an entrepreneur!) and stop in New York City to do a touch of shopping and sightseeing. Accomplished! With the help of Toyota by lending me a late model 2016 Camry XSE, I rocked my way to New York City
