We’ve got a $100 Saks Fifth Avenue gift card for the best suggestion on topics to cover. Enter now and often — you have until June 4th!
I was sitting in the park yesterday trying to think about the blog, what to write about, what’s next, what information and tidbits to share, and how to essentially make my blog a “necessary” part of your lives. Is that even possible? I mean really – what makes Blueprint for Style readers hit the site and check out the posts? So, as I often do, I put the question to you, “What do you want to hear about day to day when it comes to style?”
Let me share with you what I think is cool — and why I hit other blogs on a daily basis…..
- Insider sale information
- How To lists for everything from weekend packing to cleaning out my closet
- Style tips
- Fun, stylish activities
- Interviews with designers
- Contests
- Latest item that is actually meaningful to me
- Know how about turning runway fashions into everyday style
- How to be more stylish and sophisticated everyday
But that’s just me. One reader wanted to know the difference between all of the magazines….that’s coming soon so hold tight! Another reader wanted to know what runway fashions were actually going to work for everyday ….we did that! A male reader wanted to know about hats and the different options…done! Keep the suggestions coming.

This is a fun contest. I pick:
1) What to wear for your body type (Triangle/Pear/Apple/Rectangle)- ever green topic, but never any really solid advice for what business attire styles work for what shapes.
2) Clothing care- garments are an investment and need to be protected. What’s the best way to keep your linen fresh in that winter rest, what to do when the drunk next to you on the plane spills their jack and coke on your Tahari?
3) Tells us your pick on THE summer/winter/fall trend- and give us some options- Budget/moderate/SPLURGE on where to pick it up.
I’m a college student with no job so I don’t have much money to spend. I would love to see posts about more affordable fashion. Also I’m a plus size girl but I still love to be fashionable. More posts about plus-size options would also be great.
Thanks. 🙂
I would love to see something about transitioning a daytime outfit to night, accessory ideas for the girl who only wears silver/gold hoop earrings and some ideas about what outfits are right for various occasions…I am often at fundraisers, award ceremonies and various evening work events and I would like to know how I can make my wordrobe work for everything (willing to make some purchases to round things out 🙂

4. The essential pieces to transition to fall/winter.

How To lists – i LOVE those! Also, how to get designer looks for less.
I think this is a great idea. I think the biggest issue that I am seeing is young girls, teenagers, and women not wearing clothing that compliments their body types. it is disturbing to see a women that is a size 18 wearing an outfit that is made for a women who is a size 8. It doesn’t work. Just because they make it in your size, doesn’t mean you are going to look good in it. If there is some way you can teach women how to dress for their body type will be greatly appreciated!
Underwear (styles and types; how to measure and find the perfect fit)
Funeral clothing etiquette
Socks (how to find the perfect sock/fit for every occasion; know different type of unique sock designers)
Markups and material on clothing (is fabric in clothing important?; is more expensive better?)
Types of shoes that work/fit and are not harmful to your feet
Nail designs (different types of designs)
Gloves (what type of stylish gloves can keep hands warm)
Hand sewn (make your own clothing) vs. purchasing
People – these are ALL such fabulous ideals…it’s going to be soooooo hard choosing one winner!! Perhaps we should do a runner-up too?!
